Hi :D

Thought I would introduce myself. I'm lillimouse quite an active UE'er from Surrey who recently took the plunge and drove for nearly 8 hours with a few others to spend a few days taking in the derelict sites :) mostly with Dazzababes :) who I have to thank ALOT

I have my own site documenting dereliction and it is hospitals and Asylms that interest me the most it is: http://www.urbandesertion.com

Managed to see a fair bit in the time when I was up :) inc:

Ruchill Hospital
Law Hospital
Gartnavel Hospital
Lennox Castle
Winston Barracks
Botanical Gardens Underground
St Peters seminary
The Coliseum

and the outsides of quite a few other wonderful derelict structures dotted about!

I think I have missed one or two off that  but I was definatly busy ..... and now I am missing Glasgow alot!!

Ooops, should have done this thread first.

Ah well.. former resident of Glasgow and a certain west coast 'resort' town famous for ice cream and old folk, now living in South Korea and married to a local but we're aiming for an eventual move to Glasgow's West End (well, that's where I want to live again anyway :) ) sometime in the next few years.

I've enjoyed browsing around this forum for a while and have finally got round to registering :)

Hello

Postby little lane » Thu Sep 07, 2006 3:03 pm

Just about to post my first post (!), and thought I would say hello first.

Can I just say brilliant site. I had found hidden glasgow years ago, but only just recently ventured into the forums and boy am I glad I did.

All the old photos of the Subway are amazing, I travel on it everyday and I always pear out the window (trying not to make it obvious should I say) when the train goes through the junctions between Govan and Ibrox, and love it when the two trains pass!

Oh well, off I go to post my first, or should I say second post.....

Can you spot where 'the pit' was? And if you go between Govan and Partick, can you spot the old Merkland Street station?

Um, today I opened up "Hidden Glasgow" and found it fascinating and wondered why I had never joined here. Than I realised that I HAD joined. Brain gone. :( Memory gone. So a belated hello to all of you, and I will try to behave and be nice.

(Of course, that depends on me *remembering* to behave and be nice. There is that. :D )

Introduction? I'm Celyn, and I used to live in Tollcross, then in Budhill, and after a gap of many years, am living in sunny Sighthill. :( Till I get demolished or poisoned by arsenic, of course.

Having lurked in the background for to long I decided to take the plunge and introduce myself; Originally from Auchenshuggle (sandwiched between the UB on one side and Dalbeth on the other) I would often wake up to the aroma of the penguins being made and the sight of an early morning mist rising from the Clyde and St Peter’s. I miss those days. After various movements I eventually settled in the Wyndford in Maryhill. Love this website and plan on posting some of the photos gathered over the years wondering around Glasgow and environs (The name gives a clue where I get the material). So, that me Hi! Everybody.
