Does anyone still listen to the radio?

My impression is that more people listen to radio now than ever - and turning off tellies as well.

Radio 4, Radio Scotland and a bit of Real when I'm in karaoke music mood.

Scottish FM stations do tend to be shite. I wonder if radio affects the voice cos they all sound the fucking same. I can hardly tell the difference.

Radio 4 is OK. Sport coverage on Five Live is good.

Hawksbee and Jacobs are pretty good on Talksport (as are Ray Houghton, Gabriel Marcotti, Adrian Durham and Alvin Martin - But beware - Dont listen before 1.00pm)

Gilles Peterson has a great show on radio 1.

Personally though I'd rather watch TV or listen to music. If the stereo in my car was working I probably wouldnt listen to any of the above!

Sorry Alex but I have to strongly disagree on that one, music wise the station must have one of the smallest playlists of any station, same songs over and over. Couple of places I have worked had the station played over the tannoy and it really becomes tedious after about a day.
Football Forum=bunch of boring Old Firm fans whining about why their team isn't winning everything in sight but still telling us all that they are the the best fans in the world.

Talksport wins for me, apart from Rodney Marsh who can annoy in so many ways

I tend to listen to Virgin when I'm driving, even tho'
they only seem to have a play-list of about 20 artists,
but when I'm at home I usually just stick on a music
channel like Vh1.

I used to love listening to the Saturday play on Radio 4, but they have got a bit too "trendy" now. I prefered the older material.

I normally set my alarm to get the last 10mins of the farming programme on Radio 4 before the Today programme during the week. But the BBC listen again option is great - I can catch up with Robbie Shepherd on Saturday evenings and and Sunday afternoons for a bit of Shand etc.
Some good internet radio stations available nowadays, and with broadband, makes for troublefree background noise.

Got to say that Radio 2 is a favourite of mine pretty much all day saturday. It's not bad on a sunday afternoon once the love songs pants shows are out of the way. Chris Evans does drivetime during teh week which is usually good.
Radio Scotland good in the morning, radio 4 good in the evenings. I left Radio One behind very suddenly towards the end of last year and never gone back to it...

Clyde, Forth, Central, XFM, Real et all - pish

If you've never heard him before you really have to listen to Scottie Maclue on Q96 (weekday evenings). A large pinch of salt and a strong contstution are definately required.

The number of folk who actually take him seriously is quite frighteniing.

Cant believe Scottie Maclue is still on the air - i though he went to a station down south.

5 Live for me most of the time, Real Radio footie phone-in on the way home in the car and Radio 2 & Talksport occasionaly. And Woxy online in work the rest of the time.
Eighty percent of success is showing up.

A few indiidual shows I listen to like Billy Sloan on a Sunday night . Vic Galloways "air" show on Radio Scotland on a Monday night is great too( especially when you can listen to it later online. )
Mostly Radio Scotland and Radio 5 during the day as long as there isnt any cricket/golf on.
