Human beings are evil. I notice this all the time, that people will pick you apart, fild your weaknesses, then exploit them to make themselfs appear stronger. It seems to be subconscious in a lot of people... Why do we need to do this anyway!

Many animals fight each other to be top dog, perhaps the nit picking, & insults, directed at people is "modern" mankind's way of doing the same thing, without the punch up
Added to that, there's certainly an inbuilt human/animal dislike of anyone percieved as "different"

Mmmm - don't you think it's often shy people who are more self-centred? I've often found that extraversion is fuelled by a genuine love and interest for other people. The quiet shy people are often so hung up thinking everyone's looking at them...
