Another Great War Memorial in Pollokshaws.

This one is located in Shawhill Road in the grounds of St Mary's Church.

This next one is in the Club House of Poloc Cricket Club in Pollok Park.

On either side of this memorial is a list of those remembered with a bit of additional information.

Nice one HH

This is the other one I was thinking of.

Now!

How about this one!

The memorial in the Clydsdale Bank at St Vincent Place. The staff were really nice and allowed me to take a couple of shots.

At the risk of causing further argument can anyone explain this.

The Charles Cameron Fountain at the corner of Sauchiehall Street and Woodlands Crescent. I had been told that this was the Cameronian Fountain and was a War Memorial. It doesn't mention anything other than the fact that Charles Cameron was an MP.

Does anyone know anything about this fountain?

My first every post on the forum was about Maclay Hall. There is mention of the private war memorial in there http://www.hiddenglasgow.com/forums/vie ... aclay+hall

Can anyone tell me what is happening to this building at the moment? I am hardly ever over that way.

Ta.

the Cameronian Memorial, besides the one in Kelvingrove Park, is in the village of Douglas. There is a statue to the Earl of Angus, who raised the regiment, and there is a cairn which is sited on the spot where the regiment disbanded in 1968.

I've got photos if you really want to see them...

Thanks Alan this answers a lot for me.

Doc

I know you have previously posted pictures of Cameronian Memorials. I was asking more about some information I was given about a memorial fountain at the same location as the Charles Cameron Fountain. I must have been given the wrong information.

Thanks for the offer however!

Outstanding yet again HH. You must have been very busy.

I have been meaning to go to the Cathedral to take pics of the memorials there for sometime but never got round to it.

The Roll of Honour for Allan Glen's school is now in the Barony Hall, Castle Street. Sorry, no photograph.
