I think that building can now be described as gutted. It is more than four hours since it started burning. I assume the lack of urgency in putting it out is because it is not next to anything. Although I think Mr City Bites is going to be a bit fed up.

Meanwhile, an enormous truck with a demolition digger on the back just pulled up at the burning building. Registration L6 DEM.
How did that happen so quickly? It hasn't even stopped burning yet.

And the building has gone! A big ugly digger pushed it down the hill into the wasteland at the back of Paddy's Market.
I am amazed how quickly that all happened.
On the plus side, there has been no traffic allowed past all day and I've just discovered that mine is the only close that still has electricity around here.

Can't believe it's gone so quickly! Our taxi driver told us about it on the way to the match yesterday and we could see the smoke, that was about 2, and I was amazed it was still burning (and they let you walk right past it) near 6 o clock. Was also surprised they only had one fire engine there!
I'm not familiar with the east end so was it just lying empty?

How did a building on London Rd get bulldozed to behind Paddy's Market?
