Can anyone help please...

I can't find any instructions or forum help about having a Moderator that can't carry out the job responsibly removed.

Ask the boss. Unfortunately I am a human being and lack the ability to take off the moderator cap as crusty_bint and I'm not setting up an alias on your account. Don't take yourself or my comments too seriously.... its only an internet forum :roll:

I'm all for the new Transport Museum on the Clyde, but why oh why can't they appoint a local (Scottish) Architect for the job? Glasgow has so many good Architects - I used to work for one many years ago. There seems to be a trend these days for appointing "foreign" people for top jobs (that goes for football managers also)!! Anyway, to get back to the point, I think the Museum will definately enhance the area and am all for the regeneration along the Clyde. :wink:

At last, a leak ::):

September 13 looks like a possible opening date for the revitalised Kelvingrove. This date appears to suit the diary of the selected celebrity who will be invited to open the 'new' museum, no less than HM Queen.

Like all rumours, this is subject to confirmation, and that won't happen before July if it's true.

Six additional public galleries, 35% larger public space and twice the number of objects on display await the visitors when the museum returns.

Tht will be the official opening date and confirmation is awaited. Apparently the Queen's lackeys don't like leaks so it might be Prince Charles or (God forgive) King George VII who officiates.

Yeah. She's been "booked" for well over two years now. Dexter could be right about the last-minute replacement, however. Can anybody remember the last time they saw the queen doing anything - either in real life or on their Tellybox?

Yeah, the whole public realm around Kelvingrove and Partick Bridge could do with an overhaul. I guess this will hinge on what happens with the Kelvin Hall and the Transport Museum site?

Anywho, found this pic of the Kelvin Hall under reconstruction (completed 1927) after being destroyed by fire in 1925:

What's that stretch of water at the top right hand side, CB? Not the continuation of the Clyde, shirley?

The one with the two clearly visible ships is the inland cutting/basin of Yorkhill Quay, the bit of water to the right of that again is the Partick bank and wall of the Kelvin where it meets the Clyde, there would have been a graving dock slightly further upstream (150 yards maybe) the Kelvin from this on the Partick side :)
