Another couple of questions for you Alycidon and I'm sure you can answer these -

Looking at the map which Sir Roger DeLodgerley posted, what was the name of the station which used to be on Gower St. at the bridge which crosses over the Paisley Canal Line? The station building on the bridge still exists [it is now a shop] but of course everything else has gone. Was this the old Bellahouston & Dumbreck Station? And did the old Paisley Canal Line continue beyond its current terminus in Paisley or did it stop there?

The station on Gower Street was indeed Bellahouston and Dumbreck which closed on 20th September 1954. There is a photograph on page 31 of "An Illustrated History of Glasgow's Railways"
The Paisley Canal Line continued to rejoin the main line to Ayr at Elderslie and there was also a junction for the Kilmacolm branch. BR withdrew the passenger service to Kilmacolm via Paisley Canal on 10th January 1983 and surprisingly, given it's usefulness as a diversionary route, tore up the track beyond Hawkhill Oil Terminal and subsequently the formation was built over between the original Paisley Canal Station and the new one. The old station building remains as a restaurant.

Thanks Alycidon, excuse my ignorance, i'm trying to work this out via the train window, is "Smithy Lye" the bit thats all grassed over or the bit thats littered with concrete mouldings?

Not sure what you mean but as you leave Glasgow Central, looking out of the left hand side of the train, you pass the Signal Box, then the remains of Glasgow Parcels Station, then Smithy Lye CS, pass under Shields Road and then pass Shields Road Electric Depot.

Dug through the collection and found these two of Smithy Lye, taken a good while ago so the area is probably well overgrown by now.

Still cant see them. Spaces in filenames online is generally a bad idea, btw.
