Anyone know of where I could get a cheap van for a day's hire? Cheap as chips please!

How big, what kind of mileage are you gonna do?

Boulevard or David Owen would probably be cheapest.

check the window of your local newsagents, might find a man and van deal there.

Are you moving a lot of stuff, (several trips) or a single trip?

Vans tend to charged in blocks of a few hours, don't get a full day unless you think you'll need it.

If you need a hand lugging give me a shout, I'm not that far away from you.

Hired a lot of vans moving stuff over the last two years. I would say as Alan M has above that your best bet is Boulevard. Nice and cheap.

IIRC, David Owen are cheaper than Boulevard. However, the one and only time I hired from them the van was extremely shoddy and didn't look like it would pass an MOT - you could see the road through the floor under the driver's feet!!! 8O

Arnold Clark in Castlebank St do half-day hires for about £30 I think, and their vans are in much better nick.

Rent-a-bargain just off Kilbirnie Street, Tradeston. Next to the big Arnold Clark accident repairs centre. Very cheap.

AMK in Whiteinch, usually use them and they've been reliable. Standard Transit style van was 36 quid a day, Luton box van is 60.

Mind you, my car got bashed by some swine when I left it outside their depot for the 2 days I had the van!
