what a stonker of a post.......since I'm off work today...

I cannot think about anything that irritates me.......

The fact I dont get more days off is about it.

I forgot....

people that are late the day the boss is off.....

people that are rude to old folk(even if old folks are rude first, who cares, they are old)

this is the grrrr factor one.... co workers that manipulate to arrange things to their own advantage...holidays off, long weekends, cooshie jobs..etc......just once is the only number of times they ever do it to the team...Do you know how easy it is to grab a co worker by the throat with words. Tell them they are lucky they still have tonsils and give them this look that messes them up psychologically for the rest of their working life. Once is the only time they will try and take the bread from your mouth... it is especially nice when it's a tall person that you have to go on tippie toes to see the whites of the eyes ....they least expect it and it's best done in the elevator.....no witnesses. I only had to do it once ever.

I hate gossips with a passion......exept when they pass it along that Jimmy is quiet cause he got his head ripped off in the elevator. ::): Gossips have their uses.

The reality is that I am such a gentle soul too.

I care, if someone is rude to you then it's open season as far as I'm concerned. Just because their parents fucked before yours doesn't mean they should command any more respect than anyone else.

Folk that run their life, and yours, by silly phrases, and the teachings of those that "know better":

You can't go to China and speak Chinese the first day.

Fail to plan, plan to fail.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

I'm not listening to you, because you haven't done a SWOT exercise first.

Rudeness can also be a perception..... especially if it comes with a good dose of honesty.

Usually, sometimes.... old folks are sore and miserable for more reasons that we know about. Being gruff and moanie and impatient isn't rude when your body aches with unimaginable pain or you are on a slippy slope to another world that is part of life. Being rude back isn't worth it. Being rude back to anyone makes us as bad as they are even if it is wonderful at the time..... I have an immensely wide soft spot for elderly folks....they are wonderful. Even the moanie faced ones have amazing stories but you are right......maybe I meant more moanie faced than rude......

Wise words trickntoots. The earliest onset of Alzheimers or Dementia are not readily diagnosed, and the disease has usually taken root before formal diagnosis takes place, but behavioural changes, noticable by strangers rather than family, can be warnings.

Unfortunately, today's society seems less willing to let someone be a litlle eccentric, and jumps on any opportunity to hound anyone that doesn't want to conform to somone's nominal concept of normality.

See Channel 4 tonight, which features ASBOs being served on the elderly.

They need help and protection, not court orders.

Watching this just now, the old chap whose wife died in'96 and left him with no link to the outside world which made his neighbours the enemy and his life became an obsessional need to log all the movements ouside his home. Even had samples of shit in his freezer that had been thrown at his garage door. 200 calls to the police in one year about incidents in respect of his property etc etc However the real cause of his predicament came when he broke down and told the story of his wife being diagnosed with a terminal illness, being sent home from hospital to die at home 2 weeks later in the sitting room of the house because she was too ill to get upstairs.
Yeah, I would say this chap needs help and protection and would definitely recommend that he got some grief counselling for a start as he appears to be stuck in time.
Which brings me to workplace hates.......I hate people who assume responsibility and don't have the commitment to follow things up. In the case above, someone has made a decision on discharging this man's wife from hospital with a short life expectancy.......why did they then not follow up on the case or make sure other agencies were alerted to the situation?

PPPPPP also needs a towel or hankie to wipe your face down with after someone's sprayed it at you, especially if they've done it few times for emphasis :)

Possibly surprisingly, I'm going to speak up in favour for "Assume make an ass out of you and me", and that's only because it is one of the few that really is genuinely true, without having to make some sort of daft association with the words.

I think I just hate my job.
Pet hates? I don't know where to start...

My line manager has a complete inability to listen to the words coming out my mouth.
Her: "You can't take that high-vis home. Hang it up."
Me: "No... It's mine. I own it. I bought it I'm taking it home."
Her: "You can't. You're not allowed. Other people need it"
Cue a huge argument ending with her saying...
"Why didn't you just tell me it was yours in the first place..."
ARGH!!!!!!!

Managers who just assume you're doing nothing, and then try to delegate a task. Fuck off! I am actually working!

C*nts who manage to get away with doing absoloutley fuck all with their entire shift and still manange to be best pals with the management team. Hey, I'm not all that bothered in making friends with the management (although some are cool enough) but when I'm busting a nut to complete my work -and to a bloody high standard- with sweat is dripping fae my brow I expect a bit more recognition than those fuckers!

People who think you're in a bad mood when you are not. Don't they realise I just don't wanna talk to them cause I don't like them and I have a job to do.

People who wanna talk to me ALL the time!

People who think you're hungover. Just cause! "No I was up to 3am studying so I can leave this hole!"

People who think they're more important than they actually are. When you ask them a question and they can't tell you.
Me: "What time do you finish?"
Them: "Can't say it's a security issue!"
Me: "Why are you ironing a shirt at reception? Who's it for?"
Them: "Oh... I can't say!"
Fuck off, you're a dick and you're ironing somebody elses shirt! Now I want you to tell me who it's for just cause you're a dick and I wanna know who is soooo important that you got suckered into ironing their damn shirt!!!

I work with imbeciles!
