Old Timers.....

Postby DMcNay » Mon May 17, 2004 2:21 pm

You know, I was bored a moment ago, and had a wee look at the memberlist. And I noticed a few things.

First was the fact that kn0wledge has posted double what I have, despite me being here longer than him.

The other thing I noticed was that my thinking I was a relative newbie is in fact totally wrong. I've been here longer than Modern Fossil and crusty_bint!

BLimey. I'll be getting my forum pipe and slippers before I know it.

I've no idea why I'm mentioning all this.....

Attention seeking might be right. Although with another of your inane comments you could be accused of the same...

You're right enough! I know it's only the net, but bad speeling and punktuation really pi*s me off too. I can't believe there are people who have got to this stage in life without understanding the difference between 'to' and 'too'.

However, on a slightly more positive note, someone has approached me today, about using one of my pictures. And he's talking money! The picture is one of the Finnieston crane pics I took back in '82. (see under Rotundas) Have asked for more specific details of use, let's see what happens......

Sorry, that website went a long time ago, must remove it......No new one yet I'm afraid.

Just been busy Mod Foss, you know how it is. Kinda got sick of sitting in front of a screen....

Did some work in New York in March though, that was pretty cool!

I had my cameraman hat on, and was over filming with a group of kids from Castlemilk high and Hollyrood High, plus a community cop and cadet.

The main point of the trip was for the kids to help out with the creation of a community garden in the South Bronx. Interesting place, especially at night! They also got to meet up with local kids at this place:

We did get to see quite a lot of New York though, and I got to do the helicopter trip over Manhattan, which was absolutely outstanding. Of course, we also went to ground zero, which is still a big hole in the ground. Really sad place and brings a chill to the spine.

All in all, an amazing place. Highly recommended.
