When I was wee and being a cheeky wee bisom my Nana used to say to me "Right thats it Your going to Maggie Murphy's"
As I grew up with a fear of anyone called Maggie I wondered if anyone elses Mum's /grans used to threaten with female versions of the bogey man?
Or was my family sick???

Anyway, he swears that after being a "bad boy" one day his father made a phone call and sure enough some guy turned up at the door dressed in black wearing a balaclava, picked him up and started to carry him screaming out of the house, with his parents giving it "we warned you!". After promising to be good, he was put down and the strange man left. He still has no idea who the "bad boy man" was, and his parents won't discuss it. But he can only guess it may have been one of his uncles.
Child abuse?
