Go into Tam Sheperds and ask the man behind the counter for 'The Vanishing Trick' He did it before my very eye's and I bought it on the spot. It's a cheap gag @ around £2. With bit of practice you'll be the next David Blaine. failing that you'll have the Witch Finder General knocking at your door whence you'll be burned at the stake without mercy. ::):

I knew the bakery is still connected to the Barrs. Do they still own the butchers shop though? I mean own the building itself, not run the butchery.

i'm not honestly sure. They probably do, since the bakers and the butchers next door were originally one buidling. They probably sub-let it.

Maybe we should go in and ask them!

Aye class Fossil!

I'm sure there's one in Shawlands called the "Wong Way" . Kind of ironic because I noticed it whilst on a driving test! Funnily enough I passed!

Wouldn't be the Wong Wan in Pollokshaws perchance? It brought a smile to my face when they first put the sign up, but it has since closed. Must have been all the people phoning for a chinese and being told they had the Wong Wan :)

Does anyone remember a shop that was in the city centre called Knobs and Knockers?
It relocated briefly to the St Enoch centre until it closed.
The shop sold brassware.

This is the US site:

What about the Wok Way in Giffnock !!!

Some great names for pubs, I'm sure I seen a pub called The Doctors and another one called the Office." I can't come home just now dear i'm staying late at the Office" - Fanstastic excuse :P .

Foss, yes, I remember Knobs and Knockers. There was one in Dublin as well.

Skinto, yes, and there was The Bank in Queen Street ("Sorry, he's just nipped out to the bank ..."). I used to work beside a guy who would disappear halfway through his shift, saying he was going to the "attitude adjustment centre" ... not a bad way of describing the pub at all.

Im sure there was still a Malcolm Campbells in Victoria Road last time I was round that way (august 2003). Up at the park end of the road.

The Malcolm Campbell's in Hyndland was bought over by Peckhams, and I think they may have bought all the other shops as well.

Thanks, Foss, it's a beaut. I've never seen such a high security hairdressers. Are the cutters perhaps topless?
