RIP Lucky Poet

Postby Sharon » Mon Jan 29, 2018 3:56 pm

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I am sharing the news that Scott passed away this morning, he had cancer. It seems to have happened all too quickly, and I cant quite imagine life without him in it. He was one of life's truly good guys, a man of great character and a ready smile. He's brought so much to so many of us on HG, and really helped to shape the forum with his knowledge and and patience for keeping things in order. He is going to be missed so much by so many.

His partner Euan has asked me to let everyone know the funeral will be at 2pm on Thursday the 8th of February at Linn Crematorium and it would mean alot to him to see lots of HG folks there, so if you can make it you will be very welcome.

There will be food and drinks at The Granary later.

We are going to miss you Lucky Poet x

The loveliest person I have ever met in my life.

'Miss' is an inadequate word, but there again, I'm not sure there is such a thing as an adequate word in this circumstance.

Any of you (us) who have ever met him - you'll know what I mean.

A loss not just to Euan, not just to his friends and family, but to the world. We need more people like Scott, not less.

This is indeed a sad loss to the HG forum and a difficult one to accept at that. I miss so many of the contributors who have gone on the great forum in the sky.

My thoughts are with all who knew him, met him and loved him.

Sad news indeed.

I must confess to never having much in the way of interaction with him, but I enjoyed his posts.

My condolences to those who knew him, to Euan and yes, to the world. :(

Another gentleman lost to this world. Lost to us all.

A kind, strong and funny soul who brought a smile to the face of all who met you. I count myself in that privileged number.

You are a beautiful man, Scott.

I’m sorry this happened. I’m sorry I never got the chance to tell you these things. I hope you know now.

Euan, my heart is broken for you. I’m here if you need anything x

Truly sorry, although I did not know Lucky Poet or anyone else off this Forum, I would have attended but I have another funeral today in the totally opposite direction and sadly, due to my job, I can't get out of it to attend Lucky Poet's funeral.

Respects to all concerned and hope that it goes to plan.

I have just read this terrible news and can only echo all that has been said about such a warm, compassionate and fun man.

My thoughts are with Euan.

Only just caught up with this sad news. I'm not often on the site these days. RIP
