The child with constipation who couldn't go would be better...

I'd watch that, but I think it would be a helluva strain to get to the end. :)

Found lots of video gems on the Vimeo site of the CCA. My favourite is this one: https://vimeo.com/81395406

Starts with a bus going along Cowcaddens Road (mid demolition of the tenements - the red bricks at the end of the Buccleuch Street aren't yet built), then a walk along Sauchiehall Street from Cambridge Street, and then some street shots of Garnethill street and characters. It ends with some schoolkids messing around in someone's flat.

Highly recommend this channel - they've got some cracking interviews with older residents from around the same time and some stuff of events which took place in the old Third Eye Centre (Tai Chi demonstration, anyone? ::): )
"-What was all that then? - What? - THAT. - That was Glasgow"

I have been going through some old VHS tapes and some old cine film and some of the stuff is Glasgow related.
I have posted some of these elsewhere on the site but to keep it all in one place this seems a suitable thread.
I will be adding more and there are a load of old Scotch and Wrys, IMJolly's and City Lights to be uploaded as well so keep and eye on my you tube if that floats your boat.

Message from Jacques Chirac on New years 1990;

Not Glasgow exclusively, but a 20 minute BFI clip from 1958 on all things Scottish titled "Introducing Scotland"

I like him ... He says "Okie Dokie!"

Here is an interesting STV show I found on an old VHS tape.

In 1987, STV made a program to celebrate 30 years since their first live outside broadcast for hogmanay.

The show features some history of our traditions, the full 1957 show, some background information about the '57 broadcast and a look inside the steeple.

I have also added a few more festive TV shows so have a look on my you tube channel for I.M.Jolly, City lights, Rab C.Nesbit and Scotch and wry episodes amongst other things.

Was reminded of the Doon the Clyde video on this thread when I saw this at the weekend.

Just completed a then and now video using locations from the film That Sinking feeling.

Incase you dont know the film it was Bill Forsyth's first feature film. He shot it in Glasgow in 1979 after he was refused funding to make Gregory's girl.
