Are they retaining the old theatres, or will patients be wheeled along the bridge to new building?

Do you mean the theatres in the INS? If so yes, but they are getting refurbished and possibly moved within the INS.

Yes, the INS theatres. Just wondered if they're still in use. I guess ENT moving will free up more space in INS too.

Information I have is that OMFS will take over the ENT theatre in the INS, given the sessions they have to give up to Neuro. Longer term the refurbished theatres will be in the old ice house and given access to the spinal injury unit as well.

I don't have a medical background, but...

OMFS: Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
ENT: Ear, Nose & Throat
INS: Institute of Neurological Sciences

I'm none the wiser as to where the old ice house is though.

Hospital radio in need of a lifesaver: onsite stations frozen out of new Glasgow hospital
A spokeswoman for NHSGGC said: “When the new South Glasgow Hospital opens later this year, every single en-suite room will have an individual patient entertainment system with dedicated free access to Freeview channels and digital radio.
“The length of time a patient stays in hospital is reducing and most bring their own personal phones, iPads and iPods to listen to their own choices of music.
“Our view therefore is that the historical visit by a volunteer for personal requests is less viable given these changes and the array of TV and radio choices which will be offered by our new entertainment systems.

Apologies I shouldn't use jargon and Dazza is correct.

They're building the new Imaging Centre of Excellence there, so I suppose ICEhouse is quite apt

The University of Glasgow have submitted plans to transform an old Southern General site into a pioneering new medical research facility.
