It's amazing what you can turn up on Youtube. This video is fairly awful it has to be said, but does feature Tony Sheridan with Glasgow's own Bobby Patrick Big Six. They feature from about 30 seconds in then again at the end.

Sad to have to report the passing of Jack Bruce (b. Bishopbriggs), bassist with Cream and John Mayall's Blues Breakers :(
They boil them for 20 of their Earth minutes

According to 'Bowiewonderworld', the 28th February 1972 gig was cancelled because the management wouldn't allow him to use their full amplification.Bowie met fans outside to speak to them and explain. My brother says that he didn't get to the venue, having been told by others on the way that it had been cancelled.
The management must have relented though as AC/DC played there twice in 1976.

True.

Excellent find. They played Hamburg like a number of other Scots before The Beatles. There's a book there.

My Uncle Willie went to Germany in the early '60s, playing in the American bases as well as the clubs in Hamburg.According to him , it was every bit as wild as has been claimed.

Definitely, and there can't be that many of the guys who were there left to write it. :(

Amazing I don't remember that, as I hail from Renfrew, minutes from Paisley. What a line up. I do recall the staid music shop Cuthbertsons mentioned on the poster, I used to go there on payday when I was a teenager assistant to the Town Clerk. I bought Tadpoles by the Bonzos and the Nuggets psych compilation there. Happy daze.

My late brother-in-law, Jimmy Smith played drums in The Driftwoods with Ian and his brother Jim (my other sister's ex fiance) in the Cavendish in Nitshill. There is a couple of photos of them in "Memories of Pollok" I have a couple of Ian's of pictures, one of Waterfoot Ave. where I stayed and the other of St. Christopher's Church.

I met ian by chance in the struan bar in rothesay and we ended up jamming together on a couple of guitars that they have in the bar.bobby vee was his choice and it kind of gave the place a wee lift from the trad folk that the rest of the locals were playing.sunday nights in the struan if anyone is over there for a break.

Wish I could manage. Give Ian regards from myself and my "big" sister Jean. :)

Laugh-out loud "interview" with Bill Martin as he slags off just about everybody while talking himself up somewhat. For the benefit of younger readers this is the man who wrote "Shang-a-lang" for the Bay City Rollers.
