The Sainsbury tv ad prompted me to re visit Christmas in the Trenches - written and performed by John McCutcheon.

I hear the people sing.

"Baby It's Cold Outside" - Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

I just love this:

Judas Priest - The Green Manalishi (with the Two Pronged Crown):

The Mamas and the Papas - Monday, Monday - at the Monterey Pop Festival. Forgive the brief oops moment towards the end. Bloody bass players :) It was well rescued.

What harmonies though. Usually a gentle wee song, lapping at the shore. Here, it turns into a breaking storm - and the best sort of singing competition between Cass and the guys:

Heard my all time, absolute favourite Christmassy-type song on the radio earlier.

"Driving Home for Christmas" by Chris Rea.

I love the plinky-plonky piano and the string section. :)

Listening to nine CDs that I bought in Fopp's sale: Felonious Monk in Paris, Blue Note's Beginners Guide to Jazz (3CDs), Best of Peggy Lee(2CDs), Best of Anne Peebles - great stuff - Fat Possum Blues Sampler, Laura Cantrall, Patti Loveless, Roberta Flack's Beatles covers and Peter Blegvad with Andy Partridge.
All £1 - took me two minutes.
