Glasgow Nightclubs

Postby robertpool » Fri Oct 31, 2014 9:37 am

I have just uploaded a number of 'Free Pass' tickets to my collection but have no idea the years that they relate to. Any help would be appreciated.

Bobby

over 200 views to the thread and so far no one can remember. Even the decade would help :)

My best guess would be the early ninety's, as Tin Pan Alley only opened in 89(i think). Not sure all the flyers are from the same time though.

Underworld burned in the late 90's and reckon the pass is for around 96/97

Planet Peach could be as late as the millennium but strange it doesnt have a web address...

Fury Murrays reckon no later than 1996.

Not the best answers, but pretty cool tickets!

Fury Murrays definately lasted until much later - probably 1998/99 I still remember being at it (unless old age is catching up with me)

Didn't know the Underworld burned - my last attendance was probably 2000/01 - it garnered a reputation as one of those places where you only got past the bouncers if you face fitted and your shoes were the right colour (the Garage became like that in later years, it has to be said), so took my business elsewhere.....

strangely enough the Fury Murray ticket was the only one with a date stamp on the back '1999'. Thanks to all of you for your help. Bobby

oooft - not too far away at 1996 then. I'm claiming that as a victory!

I note Robert P that you were a member at Kirkintilloch Rileys. I would have been a nipper at the time but was also a member around those days.

Oh certainly not RP.

I fondly remember getting a membership and cue for christmas early nineties. And as such, most of those nightclub tickets were too old for me!

Love your flickr stuff by the way - what an archive. Cheers.
