Great photos HH

Thanks for posting and thank Fjord from the "other place"

I remember the station well and the way it was all covered in from school days, when I went past it now and again. Botanics and Kelvinbridge were mysterious places and scary walks through the tunnel always held a fascination I suppose some things just don't change so much.

Saw this stuck on the outside Bridgeton station today.
It was gone a few hours later, but does anyone have any idea if this relates to anything significant?
I just assumed it was some general, planned work.

Lot of tree cutting and trimming ongoing.

Cheers HH for the links

Maybe I'm wrong but I seem to remember there being some glass panels also on the bridge structure which I reckon would have been part of the covering that sheltered the platform. It was left in state of decay for quite some time, standard Glasgow redevelopment practices obviously being adhered to.

Its funny I wonder how many of the people crossing what is now a little insignificant bridge realize what used to pass along there

I was reading in the East Lancashire Railway mag that Royal Scots Grey, I think the best preserved of the Deltics is still around the Glasgow area doing haulage for refurbishment work on EMUs.

Anybody seen it or know where you get a look at it

Always loved the Deltics

3 million miles on the clock? Wow.

It went under Pollokshaws Road by the monumental masons at about one o'clock. I have footage but nowhere to post it thanks to Photobucket becoming too cumbersome to use.

I understand why it needs a coach to couple to the EMUs, but why the tanks and the other coaches? Is it because the EMU's brakes won't be functional in this set-up?
