We'll see. The costs of refurbishing the clock tower and the recent planning consent for a new build admin block suggest its days are numbered.

Demolition of other areas has started to pick up. The original casualty (on the corner of the site), which was latterly a chest clinic has just gone. The old mortuary is already away as is the 1960's built pharmacy department in the middle of the site.
The Langlands redevelopment, saw the last of the pavilions form the old Shieldhall Hospital go, the last of those pavilions was used as a kids day nursery and was flattened for extra car park space

How does that correspond with this pre-redevelopment map?

If I'm orientated correctly on the map:
15 = pharmacy which has been demolished
3&4 = Old A&E/Chest Clinic/GUM, just demolished
13= old Mortuary, demolished
19 = The Langlands Building which replaced the old pavilions of the Shieldhall fever Hospital
9 = the old Biochemistry/haematology labs, which if not demolished are empty with the new lab building open
The central canteen and stores aren't shown on this but would have been roughly where the lettering for Southern General Hospital is.

20 mil on a new centralised admin block. All greater glasgow NHS admin to be moved there.

That's not quite accurate. 20 million on the block, yes, but not all of admin is moving there. Primarily the block is for Consultant office space, as the main hospital is all open plan. Corporate management remains at JBR.
Acute higher management are based in the management building (old nurses home) and that is being retained, so can't see them moving, though the Directorate management teams might be in the new admin block.

The map is fairly recent (about 2 years old) Can add 14 is the old poorhouse/psychiatric unit. The blank site labelled Southern General is where the death star lies.......

The above photograph which shows the Clock Tower alongside the new Southern General came out last year.

Which car park was refused planning permission? Is it in the photograph?

So far you you've produced your own rumour.

Not really a photograph Dex, artist's impression. The car park at the top right overlooking the wee scheme behind the Luma building. I also noticed this has a car park where the admin block and education centre are currently being built.
Shouldn't believe everything people want you to see.......

Guacho is right. That is the original artist's impression that was produced.
Where the second car park is shown is roughly where they are now building the Education centre and Office block.
Those were not agreed at the time the artists impression was brought out.

Is there an artist's impression with a hole where the Clock Tower building is now?

Is there a scrap of evidence that the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde intend to demolish the Clock Tower?

Is the new A&E going to be big enough? Todays Daily Record had a story of the Western not being able to cope. Any truth in an A&E at Golden Jubilee?
