Ads are not a problem, just download an ad blocker. I haven't seen an advert on a site for 6 months.

Tried that on a Pro account a few weeks ago in a vain attempt to minimize some of the clutter on the front page prior to the update (I know there wasn't much but I like minimalism) and automatically locked myself out at the log in stage in the process. Had to unblock it to get back in. Don't think for a moment they haven't thought about this, the cunning bastards.

It's at times like this that I remember to be glad that HG is non-commercial.

I'd really hate to abandon Flickr, but it looks to be a fuckng disastr.

I use both IE8 and Chrome depending on what it is l am doing. Chrome is used only for watching 'catch up tv' on ITV player, 4 on Demand and Demand 5. I installed a free program called Adblock Plus 1.4 which blocks all adverts, including the ones that run during the tv programs. It's like watching the BBC with no adverts only your watching ITV, Channel 4 and 5. Try it and see.

I've recently been pointed in the direction of Fluidr, which I'm really quite enjoying for viewing Flickr photos. (It's certainly far superior for photo streams, since you can see descriptions and other info directly. Hell of an indictment, that somebody can knock together something more usable and flexible than the official version.)
