Nice one BTJ, is that a wireless camera or one that records to a SD card?

It records onto a micro sd card. The camera was only £12 delivered from ebay, search for MD 80.

So who went to the model railway exhibition at the SECC?

I went this afternoon and bought a couple of "helping hand" magnifying glass gadgets. I nearly bought more than that. There was a Class 66 in EWS livery for £65 and there was a choice of Class 52 locos on the Heljan stand. I didn't have the money to buy both so I went off to the hole in the wall. Couldn't be bothered to go back in the end so bought neither.

Anyway, there'll be other opportunities, like this large scale (O-gauge?) Class 52 with all the detailing and weathering:

I tried to get along, - I go every year - but I couldn't make it on the Friday and was refused time off from work over the weekend, so brokenheartedly had to miss it this year. It's something I look forward to too, right from the last notes of the Eurovision Song Contest in May (another highlight) right up till the doors open in February.

That's a lovely model of a Class 52. Best I've seen.

Horror Shock Probe - Drunkenness in Buchanan Street!!!

Bought some Faller figures, which maintain the cliche of the Glasgow Drunk. The scenario is that a return football special has just arrived at Buchanan Street, offloading the drunken fans

The van is a recent car boot sale find, not often you get a vehicle so appropriate for your layout as this

They are stunning aren't they. There used to be a little model railway shop on Bell Street - I used to regularly go in there for a browse, is it still there?

The model shop in Bell Street was the famous "D&F Models", but the ladies who owned this retired last year and the shop passed into new ownership as Waddell's Models. I havn't been into the shop since it reopened, initial comments were not favourable but I understand that they have found their feet and the shop is now well stocked and the new owners are helpful and knowledgable.

Some did say my obsession with model railways let her to drink.......

Still wasn't an enjoyable experience, the figures were bought for me by my second (and last) wife, she is teetotal!!

Hi al - star of the Model Railway Exhibition at the SECC was this little gem from Greenock Model Railway Club, it is based on Kilbowie Station at Clydebank, plenty of little Glasgow cameos to be seen.

Inspired by the above model I am trying to build my own model of a Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire Railway Island Platform Station building, so I am looking for help with any photographs of the station buildings at Yoker Ferry, Scotstoun East or West as these were narrower than Kilbowie and would fit in the site that I have. Coming up short in the usual sources such as Canmore and Railscot.

TIA

Took a trip to the SECC for the 50th Anniversary Model Rail Scotland Show, think it's only the second time I've been since it moved there. One of my favourites was a layout called Clyde Street built by Helensburgh MRC which was based on Whiteinch Riverside station. My 9 year old daughter loved her day out.
