Going past Trader Joes, opposite the theatre royal last week, I noticed he was doing a 70th birthday tour and appearing there.
He advocated for the weak against the strong, the poor against the rich and labour against capital.

Today 3:00pm Christian at Trader Joes.

I first saw the Chris McLure section on a BBC production called "Stramash" which was supposed to showcase the "Glasgow Sound" as opposed to the "Liverpool sound" around 1964. The show featured a lot of people I had never heard of and quickly forgot, but the Chris McLure Section and Lulu & the Luvvers performed memorably.

There was also a programme presented by Robin Robertson called Points of View, where viewers letters were read out by rather caricatured voices with regional accents depending on the origin of the letter. One letter read out by a rather snobby Englishman had the word Stramash with certain letters crossed out, leaving the word trash - and suggesting that our Chris "leapt about like a demented lavatory brush" - with a reference to his long, slim frame and mop of curly hair. I wonder if anything remains of this show in the archive........ not that long ago I once saw him take part in a photoshoot in George Square - good to see he values his home city, and that he is still performing. Good on you Chris.
