Thats very sad.

I knew Duncan and John in the 70's as they played the same circuit as my ex's band. Really nice blokes.
Are they the Cameron Brothers band who play in Busby?
Yes HH,I know

Yes. They now play mostly Scots Folk in Busby and Auldhouse.

Does anybody remember my pal Alex Fergusson? We moved to London in Jan 77, me to become a rock hack and he became guitarist with Alternative TV and later Psychic TV. He now lives in Germany and has twin sons, but his webpage hasn't been updated in aeons. Mad, annoying, talented and amusing - would like to hear any tales from others who knew the guy who was my best mate from when we were 16.

You Tube link to a version of "Loving Things" by the Pathfinders posted by Junior Campbell of Marmalade. He explains how and why this demo was made.

George Gallacher of 60s Glasgow band 'The Poets' sadly passed away two weeks ago, aged 68:

He had remained in the music business until the 1990s when he retrained as an English teacher, retiring five years ago to live in East Kilbride.

I realise all my posts on the Glasgow music scene have not been filled with very good news. Sorry about that!

Re forgotten groups, does anyone know what became of the great geek god James King, of James King and the Lone Wolves infamy? I interviewed them for Sounds when they did a single for Virgin. On same trip back to Scotland I also did a story on Peter Capaldi's band Dream Boys. Peter later won an Oscar for best short film - but how has fate dealt with James King's mad genius I wonder?

James King and the latest version of the Lone Wolves played a memorial gig for an old manager last year. Felonious was there and he said they still had it. He meets James for a pint in the Arlington every so often.

Glad to hear "the loser shall be King" is still going! It'd be great if he'd post summat here and tell a few stories. I feel 'minor' poets are far more interesting than 'stars'- Phil Ochs not Dylan, Warren Zevon not Broooce, etc.

He's on Facebook and apparently gave a short history of his exploits.

Re Sandy Robertson's of July about the Maryland Club and the name it traded under when hosting Edgar Broughton and the like, I think this was The Morpheus Club. I saw Broughton, Bridget St John, Michael Chapman and Kevin Ayers & The Whole World there in 1969-71. Willlie Cuthbertson's son, Eric, was a good blues guitarist and often played there, and I think Grail and Glass Unicorn were also local. Also a screening of 'Don't Look Back'.

Thanks for info on Maryland/Morpheus, great to hear from someone else who was there. I recall Cuthbertson pere coming onstage in dickie-bow with acoustic guitar and offering to jam with Kevin Ayers! Ayers fired :) Coxhill onstage, to which he retorted "You couldn't replace me sonny!" Morpheus - odd to name a music venue after summat to do with putting you to sleep! No wonder it didn't catch on.
