those buildings in mountblow i remember being in very poor condition even as far back as the early 90s.

family in Dalmuir and both parents from Clydebank, my first house was in Faifley, so a regular visitor.

As it ages you can now view a lot of stuff that no longer exists on Google's Street View, such as the Dumbarton Road buildings I posted about previously.

Most of the material seems to have been shot in 2009 and I guess for a few years to come this is how it'll look. Nice quality too, unike a lot of Street View's coverage of Japan.

strange they seemed in a hurry to demolish it, yet some buildings lie in a desperate state for years before demolishing.

Not buildings this time. Forgot I'd shot these trees in Dalmuir Park just before Christmas during the big freeze in 2010.

Image

Every one of them had just been chopped down last time I was back there 5 months ago, they lay in a huge pile nearby. I presume it was because they were diseased?

Thanks. It was a good afternoon's crump through the snow, from The Field in Mountblow to Dalmuir Park and back again.

Looks like the white hooses really are now finally on the way out. I didn't see any of them still inhabited last month,

and all buildings have yellow demolition signs on them.

being vandalised /torched on a far too regular basis to make worthwhile repairs.
