Was passing the Hidden Lane Gallery on Argyle Street this morning and popped in to see the Margaret Watkins exhibition. She was an American photographer who moved to Glasgow in 1929 (if memory serves) and lived in total obscurity over here, to the point that nobody even knew she was a photographer until after she died and her collection was found.
The exhibition that's on display at the moment (and should stay on display till the end of Jan) is of her work from Paris in 1931. That said, there's some great prints on sale from around Glasgow too. Well worth a look! It'll definitely be right up a few people's street I reckon.
This is the high tide mark left by a million cubic metres of corrosive sludge that burst the banks of an industrial reservoir in Ajka, Hungary. The aftermath was recorded by Spanish photographer Palíndromo Mészáros in his project called "The Line"
Cleggy you snickering floppy eared hound when courage is needed, you're ne'er around. Those medals you wear on your moth-eaten chest should be there for bungling at which you are best.
