Bowling clubs are dying on their arses and have left it too late to recruit new members.

Let them finish building the 'Ladies' toilets first, these things take time.
Nice photo, Robert.

I think this club would have struggled as the facilities looked pretty limited. Im guessing most bowling clubs survive on the bar takings.

This club wasnt exactly without competition as there are at least 2 more clubs very close by.

Earlier today, this photo surfaced on twitter: http://www.benoit-nicolet-photographie. ... ma-old.jpg

I took photos from the same spot in 2004. For your pleasure: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7127/7117 ... 7286_o.jpg

(Links rather than images, given the size of the things!)

Should we tell them we have been doing this for years?

My goodness you could take a while figuring all that out. :D
The 1904 pic seventh from top - a church spire is missing, wonder what church that was that's no longer there and whats that tower like structure thats missing in the newer pic?

I believe the spire was attached to a church on Old Dumbarton Rd flattened by bombs during WWII. The site is where the petrol station is now.

The 'tower like structure' might have been part of a bleaching works.

Fantastic! I prefer the 1904 ones - less trees so you can see where things are much clearer.

Check Page 31 of our Bombs over Glasgow in WW2. For other bombs over Glasgow in any other era I'd suggest an advanced search.
