I hate workplace courses. I spent a whole morning being taught how to answer a phone. Only been doing the job for 24 years but, hey ho

Then, having nearly been bored to death, had to wait for a bus that took me on a Cook's tour of the city. Was bloody freezing. All in all, not the most productive day. But it all looks good on the PDP

I dread the thought of going back to work on Tuesday though I suppose you have to go back at some stage.
It always seems that bit harder when you have been off for a spell.
I finished a few days before Christmas and have been on leave since then.

On the plus side a relative is taking us for a meal on Monday so that should be nice.

I'm off all next week - joy.

The week after the Christmas break is always a bit depressing. However, it'll soon be June. :D

The reason I was dreading going back is that I haven't been feeling well.
I have had a chesty cough which seems to have been impossible to shift though I am taking medicine.

I left school after my 'O' Levels and when I see the number of people who are either unemployed or are likely
to lose their job I feel quite fortunate.

I have a friend who is a teacher and has been for some time and she tells me she thinks she could lose her
job in near future. School she works at has had falling numbers of pupils and school may have to close.

I hate the fact that I will no doubt be told on Friday that I'm not getting kept on, and am going to be back trying to find work :( This was my first job since Feb 09

I'm actually looking forward to going back to work on Wednesday, probably as this time last year I had been on the dole 3 months after being made redundant after 19 years in the one job - the only job I'd known since leaving school.

Unfortunately it took a bit longer than I'd hoped it would take to get back into employment but I persevered and it paid off. I was criticised by the "nice" person at the Job Centre for applying for too many jobs and not using their diary to record my job search - I was actually using a proper desk diary to record my applications etc - but that apparently wasn't acceptable, but eventually they saw sense

From my experience the JCP employees are only there to process claimants and go through a standard script - they offered no support whatsoever - and I really feel for anyone else going through that process

Good Luck on Friday NT
