Gorgeous little camera - let us know what you think of the image quality. And I wonder why on earth the reader tried to frazzle the card?

I have a Sony Alpha A300.

Recently bought a Sony 70 - 300mm lens.

I think its a great Camera, although i would as its the only DSLR i've used :).

I used a Fuji Film Fine Pix F610 for about 5 years before and that was just a wee belter, very easy to use and the image quality was decent.

Generally if anyone asks my camera and i tell them its a Sony they just laugh :) do think they are rated highly?

It's not the make of your tool, it's how you use it. Or something like that.

I'm using Pentax just now, which makes us both equally odd. Treat the raised eyebrows and laughter as a sign of ignorance, Wullie. Go take photos and prove them wrong. (It's just a magic box for capturing light, whatever name the box has got, and practice makes perfect.)

Odd just about sums me up :)!

I think i have around 4500 images stored on my Laptop, most of which are from the Fuji Film.

Took around 500 images today whilst at Knockhill racing track.

Just need to read and read the man to figure out how to use the Sony now :).

So long as you post some here it's all good :)

Really though, I'm no great photographic expert but some of my Flickr friends (so to speak) have had some amazing results from Sony DSLRs. And from any other name of camera. Even wooden pinhole cameras. Don't feel belittled for your choice of make :) Revel in your oddness.

Hasselblad H3DII-50. To be honest it's just for the odd casual snap.

I've heard horror stories about those death traps. I'll take it off your hands for £100 and dispose of it safely.

LP!

You are very generous for which I must thank you, but I must point out that this is indeed a thing of surpassing potency; perilous to all mortal photographers. This is the Ruling Camera over all other cameras. The One Camera to bring them all and in the darkroom bind them; forged in the white technological heat of SLRdor by the Dark Lensman himself. Putting it on will make you highly visible and render you vulnerable to the nedwraiths.

Plus the manual's probably a real bugger to work through.

Yes! Alas. My true cameraic status is on an altogether lower focal plane of existence. But a man may dream. And it's only six little numbers away.

Just bought one of these

I'm too much of a novice to go for an SLR so I will give this fella a go to build up my confidence. Its seems pretty idiot proof .... so far.

I've got it's little brother - the DMC-FZ18 - and a competent lump it is too. I'm more than happy with it .. 90% due to the cameras competence - the rest due to the fact I paid a fraction of the retail price for mine at auction. :D
I like him ... He says "Okie Dokie!"
