Any access to the Vaults underneath Toomse ? :D

From GCC DRS planning minutes.

Landscape and Environment
4.10 The developer will be responsible for carrying out further site surveys of ground
conditions and, by agreement with the Council, for resolving abnormal ground conditions
(particularly underground vaults) and decontaminating the site prior to development
taking place.
4.11 The development should incorporate a SUDS drainage scheme and this is proposed, as
a canal feature.
4.12 The residential element of the proposal, if approved, will be required to comply with
Policy RES 3 Residential Greenspace Standards when a detailed scheme is designed.

Did a wee visual of this wall as a project a while back, the wall is to be retained within the new devlopment, the prisms could be revamped with a good lighting and coloured glass theme right along on Duke street.

GCC

The design approach was influenced by the heritage of the site: the boundary wall of the former College Goods Yard railway station on Duke Street will remain. This wall, although not listed, has a strong presence on Duke Street and will be enhanced to form a grand arcade along the street.

nice visual Mori – A1 like all the plans you post 8)

I believe the vaults have been filled in and from what I could see viewing from Duke Street you’d need a JCB digger to unearth them. Hopefully they’ll be revealed during construction of the new development.

sorry to disappoint but ran out of luck in the end :( (had to exit stage left abruptly at this point)
think I’ll give up on any ideas of exploring below these grilles due to the success rate so far :?

reckon I’d be getting hot via the narrow door on the right hand side

136 Sauchiehall Lane

Interesting sewer drain cover this one by the fact you can peer down into it (3-4m) deep and clearly view the liquid flowing along the bottom gully

Nice to see a Glasgow maker "MACLEAN & Co", anyone seen any other Glasgow makers or had they cornered the local market?

Here are some glass grilles from outside the building on Sauchiehall St that houses Mother India.

Some of them are fairly up-market looking. First time I think I have seen the example in a doorway threshhold?

ALL of the millions and millions (oh it took so long to do) stirling variety can be found here. I Might have missed a few in the 1 hour I spent on the project. Most on one street but all within 5 mins walk of each other.

45 Union Street

Similar styling to the Ingram Street/John Street prisms posted previously. The glass on this one is in absolute pristine condition
