Howdy Floweredpig,

I remember the story. Did it not mention that he was living with his new partner? She was maybe from here. He was from Ipswich.

Regards

looks like it's taken from the top of the stairs at park gardens but it's a bit too high so must be from one of the buildings on park terrace. kelvingrove park just at the bottom right and the sir henry wood hall spire in the distance. marzaroli had an office in around park circus.

I live in the block at the top of the steps, basement flat in about 1993.It looks like it might b the top floor of that one.
At the time i lived there it was the only residential building apart from the student flats in the Park Circus area so it was very quiet at the weekend and night time.
The other rock "n" roll link is that one of the guys in Captain America/Eugenius(?) live on the first floor.Bass Player i believe.Dont know his name but i am sure someone will.

Interesting article about Studio six. Before my time although I do remember Radio Scotland on 242.

Dexter St. Clair wrote:I do believe John McCalman of Radio Clyde actually managed Underhand Jones. I don't want to cast aspersions on the band but I think John managed to plant a story in the local rags about the tapes for their first album/single being stolen from the back of a car. Possessing a copy of Jammy but Nice it's a pity the tapes were found.

Maybe we should carry on talking about so called "legends" like "Christan" then eh Dex?, Jammy but Nice might not have been the best unsigned band's album ever but they had more talent than most of the crap that is being mentioned on this thread, i.e. Christain, Belle and Sebastian, Altered Images and the like.

Thom405L wrote:...and what about the greatest band from Glasgow that wasn't signed up....The Dolphins. Ok..I'm going back a bit...to the '80's ....but they were an amazing live band...who played the Dial Inn, Doune Castle and the legendary Kelvingrove Park gigs... before progressing to the Mayfair (now the Garage). To find out how good they were visit Glasband80 website, or my postings on Youtube... at Thom405L. I know it's nostalgia, but Glasgow was spoiled with really good bands back then...and...not my fave...but H20 made it.....ohh...and just a name drop...went to college with a little guy called Robert Gillespie.....Cheers..hope u enjoy what u find on Glasband and Youtube.....

Check out The Dolphins on the web!!!
