I liked the oldies John and the opening shot of Washington Street, brings back lots of memories of the place.

Thanks Robert. My sister worked in Washington Street in the early 90s and I would often meet her for lunch and always had my camera with me.

This was just a first, rough attempt at doing a slide show with the first photos that were to hand. I will try and take more time over the next one.

Nice photo of Paddy McLaughlan in the 'McAlpine Street' set. I'm sure your sister will remember him well

Two great videos Stevie

I notice in the first one you used part of the Glagow 1980 video. Great use of some of the sections from that video. Where did you get it?

Probably shouldn't say but the second one with the image Cranhill flats across the M8 would have been taken from where I lived in Ruchazie :D

Have you got any more videos?

Strange but I just came across that video a few days ago whilst searching for Garthamlock.

Quick question: Where did the name Harry Johnson come from?

thanks Alex - i've made quite a few videos for the Glasgow Mods site - i'll add more links here if people are interested.

i lived on Bellrock Cres and well remember watching the Ruchazie/Cranhill battles across the motorway bridge!

Your spot on - part of that video was from the Glasgow 1980 clip which you can find on the 'Scottish Screen Archive' http://ssa.nls.uk/. This has some amazing footage of Glasgow.

Peetabix - 'Harry Johnson and the All Stars' made the song Liquidator - which was the anthem of the East End Mods!

ahh it all makes sense now.

There's a Harry Johnston in the area and I was thinking surely it can't have anything to do with him. Just coincidence then. Good video.
