That looks like Fountainwell Avenue, the demolished Fountainwell Place was to the right of them.

Taggart also used to be up there all the time. I remember Mark McManus up there and all the rest of the Taggart crew up there fro days, and nights, on end sometimes.

Watching Taggart earlier this week, they were indeed back in Sighthill Cemetery, burying Burke's dad. Maybe STV run a shuttle bus there during Taggart filming.

Preparations for the next phase are under way. The demolition is not due until next year though:

2-4 Fountainwell Terrace, "St Rollox Heights" (correct me if I'm wrong), is the one nearest the A803 Springburn Road. I couldn't get into the cemetery yesterday afternoon at 4pm because the main gates were chained for some reason.

Latest from the rumour mill is a February-March blowdown.

Hmm.. how many are coming down at once, does anybody know? I read somewhere that there were another five to be demolished at the beginning of next year, and I think the block pictured above was originally scheduled for January.

The demolition is planned for summer 09 - 2-4 Fountainwell is empty , but they are relying on removals at other blocks to permit all 3 towers coming down at the same time.

Bad day for photos:

Och Reenie I thought I'd found some info about a demolition before you had... I haven't checked these boards for a while but I found someone talking about it over on SkyScraperCity.com

I've updated the map accordingly. 8)

So the remaining Pollokshaws flats are next, later this year?
Are there any flats planned to be demolished within the next six months that are still in a state that could be used for filming? Quite a specific question I know, but you guys are very knowledgeable on these things..

The Place is gone, and next up to be prepped is Fountainwell Terrace. What a way for it all to end courtesy of the GHA.
If anyone is interested other flats of this type not in Sighthill can be found (a) at the rear of the Ibrox North Stand - Broomloan Flats and (b) in Clydebank at the bottom of Yokermill Road. (These have been clad).

Back to Sighthill, I noticed Reenie mention St Rollox Heights. She is correct in this and below are the names of all 10 tower blocks.

2 - 4 Fountainwell Place
Eagle Heights

16 -18 Fountainwell Place
Barony Heights

37 - 49 Fountainwell Avenue
Tennant Heights

2 - 4 Fountainwell Terrace
St Rollox Heights

6 - 8 Fountainwell Square
Phoenix Heights

3 - 5 Pinkston Drive
Pinkston Heights

16 - 18 Pinkston Drive
Parson Heights

17 - 19 Pinkston Drive
Huntingdon Heights

32 - 34 Pinkston Drive
Hartfield Heights

31 - 35 Pinkston Drive
Crawfurd Heights

There used to be a massive vent for that tunnel behind Dales Cycles on Dobbies Loan, that i remember from my "adventurous" childhood. After a quick glance on Live Earth it seems filled in, or demolished, as Dales seem to use it as their car park now.

The "massive vent" was actually the old tunnel from Buchanan Street Train Station (now Scotrail Buchanan House) to St Rollox engineering works. I went someway up it once but crapped out because of the dark and rats. I dont know if the entrance is still there but its behind the big blue student block, up from Dales.
