HMS Largs Bay anchored in Largs Bay.
At least she cannot cause that much mischief within UK waters . A purely defensive position is a good first move for the young lady.

Though she was a familiar shape in the distance as we crossed over from Rothesay last week.

Cunards Queen Elizabeth 2 photographed on the River Clyde in 2007.

She returns to the river on Sunday 5 October 2008, berthing at Greenock 12:00 to 22:00, on her farewell visit before heading off to Dubai to become a moored hotel.

Last chance to photograph the lady.

Nice photo
You're lucky to get some sunshine, here's a couple of my photos of RFA Largs Bay from earlier in the day.

Took a wee trip down to the Clyde yesterday and snapped these.
D35, has this a name yet? and how many of these are they going to build? Notice the top section of the superstructure of the next one on the left. Image Image

This one is delivering wind turbine section at the King George V dock, I still cannot believe that Scotland has to import these!

I think Govan has one more to build after this one, now named HMS Dragon (just been watching them paint the dragon on the bow this week).

She's due to be launched this coming Monday at 3pm. See . . . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Dragon_(D35)

6 altogether cell, Daring(D32), Dauntless(D33), Diamond(D34), Dragon(D35), Defender(D36) and Duncan(D37). They've all been roughly a year between launch dates.

Given that the Dragon has a Dragon painted on the pointy end perhaps the Duncan will have a portrait of that bastard Banatyne.

Now, that may not strike fear into the enemy but it'll at least make them change channels .. that's what I do when I see that arrogant twunt looming over the televisual horizon.
I like him ... He says "Okie Dokie!"

I raised my eyebrow at that as well when I first saw the name list. It's actually named after this dude;
