Glasgow should have a Hard Rock Cafe

Postby Darren » Thu Aug 28, 2008 2:47 pm

I've noticed that Edinburgh is the only Scottish city with a Hard Rock Cafe ( i could be wrong) but i'm wondering why Glasgow doesn't have one i think it would look good to have a HRC in Argyle Street or The Merchant City

Don't you think there are enough rip off joints in Glasgow and peddlars of over priced beer in Glasgow already?

Cafe and Hotel Development
Do you have a site or location to tell us about?

* Where is it?
* Why would it be a good location?
* Give us location details (size, location within city, street access etc).

Cafes:
A Hard Rock Cafe franchise allows you to become part of one of the most successful internationally recognized brands anywhere in the world. If you are interested in purchasing a franchise, please click here for more information.

Please keep in mind that we do not offer franchises in the U.S. at present, however there are significant opportunities available overseas. We are particularly interested the following countries: Italy, South Africa, Canada, Caribbean, and China.

Please send all inquiries in English to:
[email protected]

http://www.hardrock.com/corporate/contactus/

Give them an email and you could own the franchise for Glasgow....

Aye, I suppose you're between a rock and a hard place with one of those franchises.

I think we've exhausted this.

Welcome to HG Darren ! I do think you have a point most cities in the world have an HRC, I think Glasgow could really benefit from one. As much as I agree with Ony's statement that their are enough rip off joints in Glasgow, there is benefits' especially if you locate it in the Merchant City. The HRC could act as a big magnet removing all the American tourists from all the other restaurants therefore freeing up a table for myself ! :D

However on a real note HRC's do actually do quite well for a cities brand awareness especially with their line of T-Shirts which can be seen all over the world I think Glasgow is fully deserving of being on that map.

As I recall, there was a plan to have one about 10-15 years ago when the proposed Warner multiplex was mooted for the car parks at the back of the St Enoch Centre, a plan which never came to anything.

I think I've still got the Evening Times article in my personal sad bastard archive of cinema shit, I'll have a look.

*EDIT* - although that may have been a Planet Hollywood, my memory ain't what it was....

I misread the title there. I thought a new gay club was opening.

Around 1983. (A little bit political! True though.)
All the world seems in tune on a Spring afternoon, when we're poisoning pigeons in the park.
