Our little round friend is alive and well in Shettleston, just down from the old baths, as pictured recently:

I've got a keyring. Right next to a Glasgow's Alive badge:

Evening Times

Mr Happy: 25 years on

IT is 25 years this week since the launch of one of the country's most successful and enduring marketing slogans.
In the first of a three-part series IAIN LUNDY looks back at how Glasgow's Miles Better was born.
GLASGOW was still saddled with a "No Mean City" image of gang violence, deprivation and growing unemployment as its industry fell apart.
But in June 1983 salvation came in the most unlikely form - a clever marketing slogan and a little yellow cartoon character with a smiley face.

The BBC has noticed the anniversary as well, and run an article on it too...

Why Glasgow was 'miles better'
