Crusty

I was on last night but wasn't able to view photos so didn't get to see this.

Wow

Fantastic. Lets see more of your work. I hope someone gets me the Necropolis book for Christmas.

There is a video online about the necropolis someone might be interested in:

http://www.scotlandontv.tv/scotland_on_tv/video.html?vxSiteId=60fdd544-9c52-4e17-be7e-57a2a2d76992&vxChannel=History%20Places&vxClipId=1380_SMG047&vxBitrate=300
It's an old Scottish Minutes video, I think it was stv that made it.

Oh, I've just found another video as well:

http://www.scotlandontv.tv/scotland_on_tv/video.html?vxSiteId=60fdd544-9c52-4e17-be7e-57a2a2d76992&vxChannel=History%20Places&vxClipId=1380_SMG1133&vxBitrate=300

There is some really interesting stuff in the videos!

Very cool vids Richard!

I am, as you can see, totally new to this site, but it is about what I've trying to do now for the six months that I've stayed in Glasgow (I'm from Norway): Finding the hidden treasures in the cityscape. And the Necropolis is one of the best (not hidden) places to see in the whole of Glasgow (imo) and the Necropolis offers several less conspicuous monuments that I took some pics of (I hope you'll excuse my touristy scenery pics, I couldn't help myself):

PS: The reason for the crappy quality is the fact that I use my SonyEricsson mobile phone to take pics now-a-days...(saving for a proper digital)

nice pics and the map is absolutely delicious... my wife still looks to me sideways since i told her that i went for a spin with you guys, dark night on to a place where dead people are buried!

- a cemetery you mean
- no, a necropolis
- but aren't dead people buried there
- yes
- so, it is a cemetery
- no, it's a necropolis
- but both are where deade people are buried right?
- right!
- so, what is the difference between them?
- hummmmmmm... well, on a cemetery you can't stroll by there at night and in a necropolis you can...
- nevermind...

(and i did...)

While visiting the Necropolis today, a Council van stopped to give me a copy of the Glasgow Necropolis Heritage Trail leaflet, which was handy!
Some tasty pics included.
