Jeez-o they got to work there pretty quick. Another one bites the dust :-( It was never GCT, but it's got some history behind it.

Just last year.

Too late, there's nothing left but piles of rubble now.

I was really shocked at how quickly the whole place disappeared - glad I got those pictures when I did! They're from the Hamilton Road side, rather than the Airbles Road side.

Kenny - sorry I never pinched the sign for you. The road was busy and some guy in a car pulled up right behind me to watch me as I was taking pictures! 8O

i worked in motherwell twice once on the precinct and once in b&q , the precinct was like a war zone we had neds pelting passers by from a carpark above it with water ballons ,apparently was a quiet time as everyone was at fir park for the footie

Talking of deralect buildings in Motherwell it has came to my knowledge that EWS plan to close down the railway depot some time this year. Was told it should have closed down in may so went doon with a mate and got a last look round the yard before it closed. Image

Yet annouther target for vandals no doubt!

There was a fire in one of the buildings a while ago and it was never repaired . The building is still blackened with the roof burnt out as far as I know.

Also, graffetti artist already tag the rolling stock that sits outside the depot and much of that looks rusting, disused and broken.

Say it ain't so! They can't close Motherwell Depot: The mighty 66B of lore. Prince of motive power miscellany. This was one of my all-time favourite haunts back in the day and a great hive of activity. Surely this can't happen!

Do not yet despair KoTT - EWS have pulled out but rumour has it that one of the other freight companies has it's eyes on the depot.
