Dumfires and Galloway is the best region for dry stane dykes ... pretty much anywhere. And you can see a good variety of the old and the new, uphill, coastal, etc . There a few master dykers, possibly one of the most well known is Joe Smith who has done alot of work with Andy Goldsworthy - well, i know he did alot of the dyking on Goldsworthy's sheep folds. He started off as a traditional dyker mending farm dykes, moved onto ornamental and now is , well i suppose a sculptor.
Unfortunally, i have no idea where to look around Glasgow!
Beware of yawning dogs.
