Just thought i'd raise this yet again, would it not be possible to have a section on here for small ads ? Selling, or exchanging, books, maps, and the like.

You could add the usual disclaimer, HG is not responsible for bad deals, etc, etc.

not a bad idea at all, but i'm more into a Charity & godwill swaps of goods and services with like-minded individuals, rather than selling stuff as there are plenty of places for that.

Yes sir

Ebay does have a lot of dealers & sharks on it. A fair amount of stuff seems to go for way more than it's worth just because it's 'old'.
If I had a Glasgow book, or something, for sale or swap, i'd rather it went to someone on here than ebay.
Swaps are ok, but there's always going to be a situation where someone wants the hard cash. Remember Noel Edmond's Swap Shop ? How many swaps did they actually manage to do :wink:
