How do I unsubscribe from a topic?

There are a few topics I would like to unsubscribe from. Can anyone tell me how I can do this?
Would really like to know.

At the bottom of a thread you will see the following: Board index Subscribe topic Bookmark topic
Simply click on 'Subscripe topic' and it will unsubscribe you from the thread if you have previously subscribed to it.

Thanks a lot. I have unsubcribed about four topics so far, but they haven't disappeared from my list of topics I have subscribed to yet. Is this because it takes a day or two for it to happen? ...I am just trying a tidy-up of my postings.

You've lost me. It should be instantaneous. Do you see this message when you press the subscribe option?
If so, you are unsubscribed.

Yes, but I thought it would also vanish from the "View Your Posts" list. I have lots of stuff on that list that I would like to get rid of. I have unsubscribed some. ...For instance, I don't want "What Are You Watching?" I have unsubscribed but it is still on the list because I contributed to it. Although I won't be informed of any new messages to it, I
thought it would automatically vanish from the View Your Posts lists.
