That second location - is that Curling Crescent, off Aitkenhead Road (Hampden Park in background)?
There's a good example of Araucaria Araucana in a garden at the junction of Thornliebank Road and Hillside Road, though it's pretty well hidden behind other mature trees.

Yes, Curling Crescent. The first is Myrtle Park. Thornliebank Road monkey puzzle is on Streetview and I noticed another from the train in that area the other day.

Monkey puzzles are good for the blood pressure.

I've just been taking my blood pressure readings and concentrated on imaging monkey puzzle trees. I had diastolic readings of 76, 78 and 77. That compares to readings of 95+ when I'm wound up about something. I found that focussing on the monkey puzzle on Mum's lawn doesn't work because Dad walks past and that winds me up. I don't get on with him.

It's the weekend so they've let me out as you can see. :D

There's something strangely hypnotic about Araucaria araucana.
I like him ... He says "Okie Dokie!"

Near Milngavie, I think.

*tick, tock, tick, tock...*

Close your eyes and begin to relax. Take a deep breath, and let it out slowly. Concentrate on your breathing. With each breath you become more relaxed...

Monkey puzzles are great. Here's a couple of big 'uns I'm very fond of in Dundee:

No pictures to share, but I remember when I was about 3, my nursery teacher took some of us round the block to see a monkeypuzzle tree and I thought it was amazing.

I've no idea if it's still there or exactly where it is but I do know it's in the same wee bit as Rosshall Nursery...

Can't find it. There appears to be an arboretum at the back of Ross Hall Hospital on Crookston Road. Not in there, is it?

I highly doubt it's either of those. It was 15 or so years ago so my memory of it is a wee bit faded but I'd put money on the fact that we didn't get taken out onto Crookston Road. I swear to god it was on the corner of 2 roads, and the house looked like the ones around Cairnhill as well so I guess it's gone now :( That or I'm wildly wrong but I remember this surprisingly clearly. especially since I have a memory like a sieve.

Scary, I forgot that one on Moulin Road was even there, 'tis a beauty!
