I am trying to get my 57 Mk2 Ford Zodiac on the road for Summer

Spotted these 3 beauties in the past week.

Beetle

Alfa Spyder

Ford Consul.

It was a bastard stopping the work van in the middle of the road to get a photo of the Consul.

The purple beetle is a club members old car. He just sold it a few weeks ago.

It's just 2 streets away from me!I spotted it last monday.

Spotted these 3 in Govan yesterday! An old Vespa,Ford Granada (when did you last see one) and a Bentley.

They're a bit thinly spread these days, though they do have an enthusiastic following. The one you've captured is a later Mk2. There were front grille and tail-light revisions similar to the MkV Cortina sometime around '81.


Earlier Mk2 Granada 2.3L. A friend had the estate version of this and we used to go to football matches in it. We used to load it up with all the kit and footballs and I used to ride shotgun. The guy used to hang the tail out 'round every corner with a deft touch for an alternative take on hedge-trimming. He traded it later for a shiny late-model 2.8 Ghia which was not subjected to such abuse.

i seen a consul yesterday, with a DIY paint job. had 'V8 CONSUL' in black on the white rear wing, and an orange bonnet

I have spent the day working at Cumbernauld airport and spotted these.

Bedford Tanker.

And 2 strange Ambulances (Known as a Jumbulance)

I have been trying to scan in some of my dads slides and came across a few of his old (was brand new in the pics) Cortina.


And one with My Mum;

That Mk II was registered in Bristol, I believe.

I remember our biology teacher owning one in the mid-80's. It was rather scruffy. In fact, it was a heap, and the butt of many a student's humour. One day the windscreen shattered as he was driving in. We teased him about his new air conditioning.

Continuing with the Ford theme, a friend of mine owned this XR4i back in the 90s.



It was written off in an accident. Fortunately neither he nor his girlfriend were seriously hurt.

Another friend owned one and used to give me a lift into work. I remember it with fondness. A far nicer machine than the Capri in my opinion.

Continuing with the blue ovals.Spotted not 3 hours ago in Falkirk was this mint MK V Cortina.
