As some of you may know, I run Route9autos, a VW camper import business.

About 3 weeks ago a customer who bought a van from me moved in accross the road (first coincidence).

So today he sees me reversing my recovery truck onto the drive and he comes over to tell me that his neighbour was cutting his back hedge and the garden through the hedge had an old VW in it and this was what he found.

A very early VW type 3 notch back. :shock:

This is the rarest version of an allready pretty rare car.

Needless to say I will need to chap the door through the week and see what the story is allthough as the garage has been built over the drive since the car went in the garden I dont think this one will ever be coming out in one piece.

I suppose that's like finding a 1933 penny down the back of next door's sofa.

Its like that if you are a collector of 1933 pennys, restore 1933 pennys and buy and sell parts for 1933 pennys :D

I think when I go to the door to ask I should make sure I park at the end of his drive with my VW type 3 which I had out chasing trams last week;

Not so much spotted, more so visited in the Loch Lomond factory outlets.

Spotted in London recently. I don't know anything about motors, but somebody might be interested.

Hi the blue pick up truck. The place I worked in 1958 had one of these. The wings were fibre glass as someone broke one and I recall getting it refibre glassed. I think it was a called SEDDON pick up truck. Our one was green. Have not seen one in more than 50 years.The engine was diesel and knocked away. The whole thing shook.

It is actually a Trojan, not a Seddon, but the date would be about right. See here.

You'd think he'd have gone for a tandem.
