Although I still find it hard to forgive the Council for getting rid of the wonderful old Stirling's Library. Used to be one of my favourite places in Glasgow.

GoMA has preserved plenty of original features inside to make it worth a regular visit, no matter what exhibitions are on display.
I still love the external views, weather permitting. I took this snap of the clock tower on a nice sunny day last September.

Unfortunately because the Lighthouse was an industrial building there were very few period pieces worth preserving inside it. I only venture into it when there is an occasional exhibition which is of interest to old codgers and complete anoraks!
Externally, I took this picture of the observation tower on the same sunny day as I took the GoMA tower. Image

Scotland Street Museum looked good in the cold, better shots than I would have got in better weather.

I’m still puzzling for somewhere to get an angle on the tower of the Daily Record Building on Renfield Lane to complete the set.
A bit of an uninteresting quest for any other anorak out there?

It would make not a bad little project thread Anorak, if you can pin down all his buildings :) It really galls me that SPT built that car park at Shields Rd and completely bocked the view of Scotland St from the M8 - they couldn't have positioned it any better (or should that be worse?) if they tried! :(

Well remembered, had slipped even my mind!

Anorak, do you want to merge your Toshie posts with the Toshie thread or you happy to leave them here?

I’m still a bit of a newcomer to these fascinating forums.

I started off this wee bit of fun with my photies of the GoMA, after recently looking hopelessly for something interesting among the exhibits on display!!
I’m quite happy for you guys to move the subsequent Mackintosh postings anywhere appropriate.

By the way Crusty, the top level of the Scotland Street car park is the ideal place to view the M8 and the other side of the river from high up on the south bank. I took some of my external views of Mackintosh’s school from up on top of the car park too. It’s an ill wind?

A couple of pictures from inside Scotland Street School from my trip last week. It is now open to visitors during the winter months again as it is currently hosting the M74 archaeological dig.
