Good photos Mark, nice website. You get a good view
from Ben Vorlich.

That reminds me, was the Sloy Dam not built by WWII pows,
or was that just an urban myth.

iirc they used PWs from a camp at Garelochhead. They were moved by train and a temporary station was built at Inveruglass to serve the site.

I always understood that the Sloy Hydro was built mainly by Polish ex servicemen who stayed on after the war. When I worked down the Gareloch in the 1970s the old shipbreakers had many Poles who lived in a huge camp inside the place and hardly left it.

Fantastic image, mate. Should be mounted, framed and called Cathedral to Industry or something.

Was it in operation at the time? You looked awfully close to those cascades or are they just overflows?
