Buskers / Street Performers

Postby Snapshot » Mon Mar 27, 2006 7:19 am

Does anyone have any good pics of the many buskers and performers, etc, that are frequently seen in Buchannan Street, etc.

The first to post a band playing peruvian pan pipe music gets, err, a free lolly.

Here's a shot to start us off, from Saturday. Crazy Firebreathing Guy:

Enjoy,

Buskers

I remember as a peerie bairn there used to be an old bloke that played 2 penny whistles at the same time in Glasgow. I can remember queuing round the block for ages to get into see Star Wars at the Odeon when it first came out (I'm old  ) and he spent the whole time wondering along the queue playing tunes to keep us all slightly less miserable in the pouring rain.

No photos of him alas, but maybe somebody else does?

Slightly off topic, I remember some time in the mid 60's my big brother had a house in Ibrox and one sunday there was a backcourt concert, cant remember who what etc. just that they were playin music in the back.

I think I remember reading about this somewhere, anyone else remember this sort of thing.

This is what you call entertainment in the Glasgow streets of 1895, the dancing bear.

Fantastic! This is kinda interesting - there's so much street performance going on just now, it really seems to have exploded in the last 12 months or so....
