You'll bang your head on the sky - and what's more you'll be nearly as big as that bee. It was the size of a Lancaster bomber. 8O

The thistles must have been full of nectar. I was waiting for ten minutes for a cloud to clear the sun and all the while these bees stayed on the same flower heads.

Great shots Brigit, aren't you glad there is a lens between them and you.

Thanks minxy :)

I don't mind whether I have a camera with me or not. I could watch bumble bees going about their business all day long. Never had any trouble with them either. They're supposed to have a nasty sting but I've never heard of anyone being stung.

A couple more, in addition to the one I posted in "Macro".

Where I walk my dogs in the Colzium Estate, Kilsyth, there is a metal bridge over an outlet stream. It's made of steel (I think) and just about every unused bolt-hole is home to a spider. There are hundreds of empty bolt holes!

At Castle Campbell, a great place for butterflies because of the plants they have there.
