Greenock and surrounding area has plenty of them. I recognised the posts sticking out the water, not sure if this is the remininants of some old docks or the skeletons of ships or a combination of the both. I believe there was graving dock about Port Glasgow but I didn't research. Most of the Inverclyde main ports and dock network are now flats and hooses, I see marinas and much high class stuff is on the cards.

The posts are remains of timber ponds. When ships were made of woof the logs were imported from North America and floated into the timber ponds for storage and to season the wood.
I hope this is right as I am just repeating what I read on a plaque at the site.

That's more wishful thinking nowadays.

Before the road off to the left was shut off it was a busy place - stories of tailbacks to the roundabout were commonplace. Nowadays it's a victim of the internet obsession with 'naming and shaming'.

Stan Collymore has a lot to answer for

Quite suprised you didn't know Brigit that it was a Ford Popular.

Very similair to the Anglia 103e,very subtle differences.

Most existing Populars will usually be seen at race meetings with the "sit up 'n' beg" hot rod look about them.

Is that the red truck Dave or has he built another?

A few of ma mates have a shed there with their rally cars, always intersting passin his door to see thats lying about.

On another note, I was at the Jag owners day a couple of weeks back at Crossford, some lovely old E-Types and MKII's A load of XJ6's and new Jags too, ad rather go to Taggarts to see the new stuff, no interest at all :) There was a nice American Pick up and a couple of Day Vans sneaked in as well ;) Al get pics up later.

The red truck, a chevy apache was in the shed and as you can tell by the quality I only had my phone so no point even tying to take a pic indoors.
