Let's see who gets a photo first.

I hope this isn't considered cheating but found this on the Truckfest website

That'll be the beastie.

Many of the rigs were adorned with fantastic airbrushed artwork. That was the reason I was there. My friend Dougie, a retired truck driver, knowing of my artwork, suggested I take a look. We had a grand day out. Pity I only had a small memory card at the time.

is it something like that they still make in india?
remember seeing 'the hairy bikers' coupla years ago, they visited the factory
can't remember the model, but it was a 50s design RE, that they just kept making, hence you can still get a brand new 'vintage' bike :D

much the same as the 'hindustan', a minimally updated version of the morris oxford
hey, d'ye think it's ootside yir in?

Without looking it up, I'm fairly sure the Enfield Bullet has been built in India for years, probably still is.

The Morris Oxford was there in abundance when I went to Delhi in '95. They call it the Hindustan Ambassador. There were Vauxhall Victors there too, branded as Hindustan Contessa. Freshly introduced, and I pitied the good citizens of Delhi: the Austin Montego. I remember these wretched machines when they were new. We were following one into Bristol when I noticed that the cynical owner had doctored the badging on the boot-lid.

He'd ditched the "E" and turned the "M" upside down. A mini-van full of teenagers laughed themselves in half.

One week ride to any cold place

Plannin a bike trip for a week to cold place starting from Mumbai. Was thinking about Ooty but ideas are welcome.

I was going to suggest Johnstone to Greenock. More thrills than crossing the Khyber Pass.
